Survey of National Programs for Managing High-Level Radioactive Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel: Update (February 2016)
The U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board issued a report to the U.S. Congress and Secretary of Energy titled, Survey of National Programs for Managing High-Level Radioactive Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel: An Update. The report is a revision of the survey report issued by the Board in 2009. It describes 30 technical and institutional attributes of nuclear waste programs in 13 countries. Neither the original nor this updated report makes judgments about any of the programs. Rather, both reports provide information for decision-makers in Congress and the Administration on different approaches to managing and disposing of spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste.
