The interactive table below summarizes the progress in developing repository programs around the world for the disposal of spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste. For the 13 countries listed, the table shows the major milestones reached and estimated dates for future milestones.
The table is not intended to provide a comprehensive survey of nuclear waste disposal programs in all countries. Instead, the table provides information on programs in 13 selected countries that maintain an active repository development program or have started a repository site-selection process. The table will be updated periodically as new information becomes available.
